As some of you may already know, Style Unveiled is going through a major merge and redesign right now ... new site to launch this summer!!  While I have been busy busy with that project, this site hasn't been updated as frequently as I like :(  For those of you who have stuck by me during this transition, I truly appreciate it!  Once the new site (which is going to be AMAZING!!!!!) launches, you can expect the daily updates you have come to know and love about this wedding blog :)  I am SO excited!!!

This real wedding was supposed to be launched on the new site, but I just couldn't wait!!!  And you'll see why.  It's over the top beautiful and the details and portrait shots are so romantic!  It's everything I love about weddings all rolled up into one.

Meghan Christine Photography blew me away with the clicks from Amanda and Nico's Santa Barbara wedding ... srsly PINTEREST worthy over here ... so get that 'trigger finger' ready to rock!

My dress shopping experience was so drama free & so much fun. I had found a dress online by Kirstie Kelly that I absolutely fell in love with ... except I had my heart set on a strapless sweetheart top and the dress that was shown had straps and was a v-neck, with that being said my mom still convinced me to go down and just try it on. So we made our appointment and headed down to their showroom to try on dresses. What an amazing experience, working with the designer herself one on one and having the entire place to myself and my mom was so special and was the experience I wanted.  I tried on the dress I came down to try on and fell in love with it ... except for the top. So I continued to try on other dresses but just couldn't get over that dress. So I put it on again and the designer worked on the top while I was wearing it to turn it into a strapless sweetheart and it was just perfect, that was it for me, I didn't need to try on anymore ... it was my dream dress. Finding my dress at Kirstie Kelly was such a fun experience, they even made my bridesmaid dresses and my mother's dress, and my dress was perfectly altered to fit my body, it was truly a dream come true.

After many referrals from other past brides I finally made an appointment with Tricia Dahlgren, and I can say this ... best decision I made throughout the entire planning process. She took every single ounce of stress I had away & put me at complete ease. Her amazing her staff brought my vision to life, I was a very hands on bride, I loved planning and designing what my reception was going to look like & Tricia completely got it and I could not and would not change a single thing. On the day of my wedding having one of her assistants with my husband and one with me was such a relief, I knew my husband and his groomsmen were going to be at the church on time & everything was going to run smoothly. I can honestly say I did not lift a single finger on my wedding day & that is the way that it should be!!! My mom just got to enjoy being with me and celebrating rather then running around making sure everything was perfect for me. Tricia & her staff were irreplaceable on our wedding day!via StyleUnveiled.com / Santa Barbara Real Wedding / Meghan Christine Photographyvia StyleUnveiled.com / Santa Barbara Real Wedding / Meghan Christine Photography

My husband and I were inspired by the rat pack era for our wedding. Men in classic tuxedos & women in glamorous mermaid gowns, we wanted our wedding to feel classic, glamorous, & romantic.

Amanda: My best moment had to of been when my dad and I were waiting together behind the doors of the church & it was just the two of us waiting for everyone else to walk down and we were just talking about how happy he was and that he couldn't have chosen a better man for me to marry & then the doors open & all I could see was my husband standing there, it was like having tunnel vision, he was the only thing I could see and the smile on my face was so ridiculously big and I will never forget the look on his face when he saw me, it was truly everything i had ever hoped that moment would be.

Nico:  My favorite moment of our wedding day was when our wedding planner snuck us into the reception room before anyone got to see it & we got to take in all of the beauty, hard work, & planning that had been going on for the past 18 months and really appreciate where we were going to be celebrating our marriage with our friends & family.

We met our photographer through my cousin & we decided to use her for our engagement photos to see how we all meshed and if she really understood what we wanted out of our photos. I believe the saying "hit the nail on the head" would apply here. Meghan Christine Photography really understood how important photography was to us and also she really understood that we wanted more "editorial" style photos. We wanted them to look as though they were straight out of a magazine and she truly captured the love between the two of us. Our wedding photos are breathtaking & I cannot look at them enough. Choosing Meghan was a no brainer after our engagement photos & we are truly lucky to have been introduced to her & to have her photos from our wedding to cherish forever.

We chose the Santa Barbara Mission for our ceremony because the inside of the church truly made us feel like we were in a church in Italy. My husband is Italian & he loved how the interior made him feel that way. After meeting with the priests at the church & attending a mass there it solidified our decision in having our ceremony there.

We chose the Biltmore Four Seasons for our reception because of a few reasons. If you have been to this hotel you will truly understand what I mean when I say that being there is like being in a different world. The grounds there are unbelievably stunning, the views, the gardens, the interiors truly take your breath away. The staff there is truly 5 star service, from start to finish I could not have asked for anything beyond what I was given there. We got an insane surprise when we showed up for our wedding weekend and the staff had upgraded us to the Anacapa Suite, it was a gorgeous villa with a private entrance and completely secluded and just magical, we didn't want to leave! We were literally pinching ourselves the entire weekend at the hotel and asking "is this really our wedding?" ... the experience we had there has be unforgettable.

We decided to use Stella Bloom Designs out of Camarillo as our florist. I first met Amy at my cousin's wedding a year prior and absolutely loved her work, it was truly stunning. Working with Amy was an absolute joy, she made me feel so at ease about the whole process & was always to reassuring that everything was going to be absolutely gorgeous. I got married in January and a lot of flowers are not in season, however I really had my heart set on peonies & Amy was very honest with me that peonies were not a guarantee but that she would try her best to get me some for my centerpieces. On my wedding day I had the biggest surprise of a bouquet FILLED with peonies & garden roses, it honestly was such a shock to see and I was beyond ecstatic. My flowers were flawless & working with Amy was wonderful, I cannot say enough nice things about her & her staff.

Ohhhh the wedding cake. I was adamant on having a grand, big, unique wedding cake because it was a huge focal point during our cocktail hour. We ended up using love birds and bird cages throughout our cocktail decor and from that stemmed an idea for a birdcage cake. I did not think it was going to be possible, but once again the Four Season's pastry chef came through and delivered out gorgeous 4 tier gold & ivory bird cage cake. I was so beyond excited when I finally saw it, I was just in complete awe. The flavor we chose for our wedding cake was vanilla poundcake with fresh strawberry filling and vanilla buttercream. My husband is allergic to chocolate and peanuts so lucky for him vanilla pound cake is my absolute favorite. I am praying and hoping that our top tier still tastes as unbelievably good on our one year anniversary as our wedding cake did on that night!

Our biggest piece of advice to brides and grooms planning their wedding would be to hire a wedding coordinator! It will take all of your stress away for you both and your families. Also, invite who YOU want to invite, it's your wedding ... not your parents even if they are paying for it ... you guys as a couple should be surrounded by people that if they couldn't come to your wedding you would be bummed out ... don't spend your ENTIRE night talking and catching up with guests ... spend it with your husband, celebrating, dancing, kissing, and just enjoying this new chapter of life you are about to embark on.

California wedding styled by Alexandra Wallace

When you think of California, images of sunshine, flowers, laid-back lifestyle and beautiful architecture come to mind. This styled shoot from California encompasses all the wonderful things there are to love about marrying in the Golden State, with unexpected style so fitting of a West Coast wedding.

Underneath a beautiful white gown, a bride can don a bright pair of shoes for her walk down the aisle. The bride in this shoot wears a beautiful pair of red heels with metallic details. It’s an amazing complement to the bright, stark colors of the rest of the bride’s look.

trendy bride

The bride is modern and edgy. She sports a pixie haircut and stylishly wears an open-back sheath dress. Sitting at a piano, the bride is surrounded by lovely, low-key luxury.

bride

The bride’s minimal accessories allow her naturally beautiful features to shine. Her smile is just as bright as the color of her dress. Her bouquet is crafted with soft, natural colors. Peach roses, white lilies, and assorted white flowers and greenery are a gorgeous, monochromatic arrangement.

styled shoot

Much like the bride, the additional décor and details in this shoot are minimal because frankly, they’re not necessary. The location and venue is so beautiful on its own that it can truly shine without stylized attention.

trendy bride

Drenched in the sunlight, the bride walks around a beautiful fountain. With gardens on either side, bursting with flowers, the colors of her skin and her dress are emulated by the environment.

Roses, a classic California touch, add a bold touch of color between the trees.

And for a sweet conclusion, a small white tray holds an assortment of white-frosted cupcakes. The simplicity of the confections on the edge of the fountain is sugary sweet.

Sometimes less truly is more and if the venue and location have enough elegant qualities to stand on its own, there’s no need to over-do it. With fresh modern style and the echo of wedding tradition, a beautiful shoot still looks classic in California.

How to Buy a Wedding Dress Online

How to Buy a Wedding Dress Online

While most women are comfortable shopping online these days, many brides still stop short at the thought of buying a wedding dress off the web. Wedding gownsare certainly different to wear and to buy than regular dresses, but purchasing a gown online can be simple if you know where to start. If you're feeling ready to give it a go, read our tips below then start browsing wedding dresses on Lover.ly!

1. Use a try-on service. Some bridal designers, like Kirstie Kelly, allow brides to "borrow" gowns and try them on at home before placing a final order. For $35 (which includes shipping both ways) the designer will send you the dress of your choice to borrow for 48 hours. You can try as many dresses as you'd like and get a sense of the styles and silhouettes that suit you.

2. Get measured by a seamstress before placing an order. Most gowns aren't sized the same way everyday clothes are, so it's important to know your measurements before you place your order online. It's possible to take your own measurements, but a local tailor should be able to do it for just a few dollars -- and it's best to get it right the first time.

3. Try on gowns in a salon before ordering online. Trying on gowns at a bridal salon will help you get a sense of the styles and silhouettes that suit you best. Once you have a good sense of what works for your body type, browse the web for a dress you love.

4. Buy from a retailer with a solid return policy. There are a lot of websites out there that sell discounted bridal gowns with an "All Sales Final" policy, but since this is probably your first time buying a wedding dress, you might not get it right on the first try. We recommend shopping with retailers like BHLDN or Nordstrom Weddings that have solid return policies. If something goes wrong, you should be able to send your dress back without hassle.

5. Buy from a reputable source that offers a secure payment gateway. Skip the sketchy websites claiming to sell designer gowns at heavily reduced prices. The savings aren't worth it! You may end up with a half-finished dress or worse, you may never even receive your dress. Only order gowns from retailers you trust, or sites you've used before that offer secure payment gateways and accountability for products ordered.

6. Order a nontraditional dress in a style that suits you. You know your body and sense of style best, so consider buying a ready-to-wear dress from a brand you love, and wear that on our wedding day instead of a traditional bridal gown. You'll find great deals online, and there's no shortage of stunning non-bridal dresses available in white and ivory.

7. Buy a slightly larger dress and have it tailored. If you know you want a simple, streamlined dress, buying a slightly larger-sized gown and having it tailored to your exact shape can be a great way to get the dress of your dreams. Just keep in mind that this can be difficult if you opt for a dress with boning or lots of beading, so be mindful of the style of dress you purchase and talk to a tailor first.

8. Buy a custom-made dress. With so many talented designers selling their creations on sites like Etsy, buying a custom wedding gown is not as expensive as you might think! Read the designer's reviews and get yourself measured by a pro before placing your order, and you may find that buying a custom gown online is the best dress-shopping experience you've ever had!

Trezzi Farm Wedding by Kimbry Studios

Posted by Kirstie Kelly in Blog, Bridal, Kirstie Kelly, Signature

Megan and Ben were inspired by the gorgeous landscape of Eastern Washington and the Palouse when they came up with their country chic wedding theme. They chose bright colors, burlap, lace and the incredible backdrop of Trezzi Farms on Green Bluff to tie it all together, with Kimbry Studios there to capture it all.

Megan wrote all about her planning process and gives some great advice (like did you know Costco has wedding dresses?!?!) at the bottom of the post, so be sure to check it out!

From Megan….

How did you know GreenBluff/Trezzi Farm was your wedding location?

I spent many weekends in college north of Spokane, a short drive away from Trezzi Farm. All those weekends were spent with an axe or chainsaw in my hand, since I was a competitive lumberjack during my years at WSU. Those years were very formative in my life, and since the Palouse and eastern Washington was so important to both Ben and I, it seemed like an easy decision to get married in a region we both had such strong connections too. Stephanie and Davide were very welcoming, and wanted to make sure that the space they created, with big barns and red tin roofs felt like a joyful place to spend our special day. Davide took great care in preparing delicious, home cooked, authentic Italian food that wafted in and out of the barn doors, and made made wine that was a true testament to his Italian roots. And if those factors weren’t enough, the giant metal chickens placed around the property sealed the deal.

What was your favorite element of the planning process and of the wedding day?

My favorite part of the planning process was picking out wedding colors and the bridesmaids dresses. I went to the hardware stores and picked up gobbs and gobbs of paint chips, scattering them all around the floor of our apartment, picking and choosing and throwing out all sorts of combinations until I reached our final decision – poppy, dark teal, and tan. Trezzi Farms bright red barns needed wedding details to match – so bright, bold colors with a dusty tan was where it was at.

The next challenge was finding bridesmaids dresses to match. We lucked out at Nordstrom’s where we found the perfect shade of teal dresses that looked great on all the girls. I wanted to avoid the typical one-time-wear bridesmaid dress, and opted for something that would work great for a night on the town as well. This fit the bill, and I even bought the tan version myself as my rehearsal dinner dress. Needless to say, all four of us girls have worn our dresses on multiple occasions, so my mission was accomplished.

Shopping for my wedding dress was EASY. I found it right after we got engaged through, of all places, COSTCO! Yeah, I know. The do limited time tour in major cities, with a small line of dresses from Kristie Kelly. I saw it online, tried it on when the dress tour came to Seattle – and when it came time for my mom and Beka to see me in it – they cried. It was clearly the winner, hands down.

Of the wedding day – My favorite element was the wild field flowers. Our florist worked wonders that incorporated a wide range field flowers in various oranges, reds and yellows and had stalks of wheat thrown as a tribute to our love of the Palouse. She understood every detail and took it to a whole new level. They were perfection.

How did you come to your wedding theme?

Our wedding theme was easy to come by. We wanted it to be simple and country-chic because of our love for Eastern Washington and the wheatfields of the Palouse. The color scheme included lots of texture and pops of color. Because the wedding was outdoors with a country-type setting, we used burlap and lace for the table runners, faux-tiqued mason jars for the vases and lots of candles to provide nice lighting when the sun started setting. The colors of the flowers looked great with the bright orange sunsets eastern Washington typically has. It fit us both and the area we loved.
