Alençon lace is a needle lace that originated in Alençon, France during the 16th century. Alençon lace, known as “the Queen of laces and a lace for Queens“, is the most elaborate needle-point lace ever produced in France. The pattern is a floral designs on a sheer net background.
Soutache lace or also called ribbon lace. Each motif of the Soutache lace is outlined with a heavier thread or cord, giving the lace a three-dimensional look outlined with soutache (a narrow, flat braid, also known as a Russian braid).
Chantilly lace is a handmade bobbin lace named after the city of Chantilly, France, in a tradition dating from the 17th century. Chantilly lace is known for its fine ground, outlined pattern, and abundant detail. The pattern is a floral lace on a plain hexagonal mesh background, usually outlined in cordonnet and having double-scalloped edges.
